We’ve said our goodbyes to 2020 and without looking back, we’ve got our eyes fixed on bigger and better things in the year ahead of us. 2021 is a clean slate for all of us, and we’re determined to make the most of this year, despite what challenges may come our way (we’ve already faced 2020, what could possibly be worse?). At Parkway, we’re kicking off the year with a renewed perspective and vision.
Each team discussed their goals for 2021, and our objectives for achieving those goals. Here are some things we’re going to be more intentional about in the year ahead:
In 2021, we’re focusing on letting the goal of our projects drive our approach to design. Purpose-driven design encourages us to gain a deeper understanding of our clients and their business, customers, competitors and vision to deliver more valuable results that make a difference.
Exploring New Mediums
As the digital world continues to evolve, we want to continue expanding our capabilities and exploring new mediums. Our design team is excited to learn and grow this year as we discover new techniques, perspectives and creative outlets.
Expanding Our Own Brand
Something that seems to get pushed to the wayside when we’re focused on client work is our own brand. While our clients always come first, we want to make sure Parkway’s brand is seen and our voice is heard. Throughout the last year, our team has spent a lot of time developing a visual identity and messaging that is representative of our unique team and approach. In 2021, we’re going to be more intentional about showing off the brand that we’re so proud of.
The content team is prioritizing continued education in 2021. We recognize that learning is the best way to grow while ensuring that we stay ahead of digital trends for our clients. We’re committed to keeping up on industry news and regularly talking about how we can apply it to our daily work.
Optimizing the SEO Client Process
In 2020, our team invested a lot of time into streamlining our internal processes and workflows. This year, we’re focusing on being more intentional about involving our clients in our work, allowing us to hold each other accountable each step of the way. By optimizing the SEO client process, we’ll be able to better accommodate our clients’ evolving needs and make the most efficient use of their time (and ours) with seamless collaboration.
We want to continue evolving towards a headless WordPress, where the content management system exists solely for back-end content input, editing, containment and sorting. This will allow us to produce and deliver content more frequently and efficiently without focusing on how the back-end administration will impact the front-end design.

Deploying GitHub WordPress Updater
The tech team is excited to deploy GitHub Updater, a WordPress plugin that allows us to add themes and plugins hosted in GitHub respiratories, this year. GitHub gives us the tools to build what we want and keep our team in sync with collaborative code capabilities, automated workflows and so much more.
Project Management Team
This year, we’re focusing on building relationships with our partners, clients and team members. When things are busy, it’s easy to prioritize action-items first, rather than investing in strong relationships, especially when working remotely. Our project manager, Jenna, is looking forward to returning to the office and learning how she can be the best teammate to her coworkers.
Transitioning into the role of Project Manager, for Jenna, means stepping into a leadership position that requires clear and concise communication. She is focusing on gaining confidence while speaking with our clients about their marketing campaigns and business goals.
