Big (like, outer space big) things are happening at The Buffalo Museum of Science. The iconic Kellogg Observatory is open to the public for the first time this millennium and the Museum is sporting a new, modern look.
Working hand in hand with the Museum’s team, Parkway created a fresh, fun digital footprint, putting must-haves like a responsive design, modern feel, industry integrations and straightforward site structure front-and-center. Lots of users, both young and young-at-heart, visit the site for details about the Museum’s awesome events, so a user-friendly calendar that would look at home on any site page was also a must.
Installing a streamlined site structure
Just like a lot of older, well-loved websites, things on the Buffalo Museum of Science’s site had gotten a little disorganized. With curious families, local educators and potential donors in mind, we ironed out the Museum’s site structure so everything from ancient artifacts to after-hours attractions are just a click away.
As with most nonprofits, the staff at the Buffalo Museum of Science and sister organization Tifft Nature Preserve have a lot on their plates. When the Museum asked us to add a few integrations within their website to make their lives easier, we took it as a challenge. Just how streamlined could we make things? Now, site visitors can book a birthday party, add events to their digital calendars and more, seriously cutting down on the time staff spend answering phone calls and emails.
