Buffalo’s Olmsted Park System hosts more than a million visitors every year within their 850 acres of beautiful parks, parkways and circles. Maintaining a system of that size takes a lot of work… and a lot of fundraising.

Parkway stepped in to build the Conservancy a website that makes it a whole lot easier for site visitors to find exactly what they’re looking for. Users are just a click (okay, maybe two clicks) away from browsing park events, shopping Olmstead swag or looking for ways to volunteer in their neighborhood’s green space. Focusing on users’ need for up-to-date and easy-to-find info paid off. A little over a year after our big reveal, the nonprofit’s revenue was up by 900%.

Designing for functionality

While lots of bustling businesses choose to let us handle the day-to-day details, Olmstead’s eager volunteers were ready to take on tasks like adding to their website’s calendar and sharing press releases online. Parkway designed the Conservancy’s new website with ease-of-use in mind to make sure all those extra donations are going straight to Buffalo’s parks, because even we know updating web pages isn’t as fun as fresh landscaping or pavilion upgrades.

“As a nonprofit, our website is a vital piece of our digital marketing strategy; the Parkway team took our online presence to a whole new level. In just over a year, unique visits are up 493% and our online revenue is up more than 900%. This has been huge benefit to meeting our mission, we couldn’t be happier.”
